Statistically, worldwide, not more than 10 to 12, both males and females, for each year of birth, reach the professional TOP 50 ranking in the world. The results obtained as juniors are important but not decisive; it is fundamental to consider these results only as road steps but never as arrival point. In recent years approximately 80% of the players were among the best in at least one of the youth categories in which they competed.
Real talents have in common:
• PASSION ... they deeply love tennis
• HEART … great passion and desire to succeed: they put all of their energy
• DREAM … a vision, a life dream
• COURAGE … they dare
In addition to these "pillars", at least other 20 characteristics were identified and successfully tested in over 10 years of talent scouting. All this items significantly contribute to the identification of a potential young player and help in setting priorities on which should be worked on.
These factors can be summarized in physical, technical and mental:
• used during advisory and coaching activity
• covered in training seminars.
There are also external factors that come into play that may affect the future in a decisive way thus should be held in due consideration:
• logistics
• financials
• evaluation
• conditioning
The evaluation vary depending on age thus it is necessary to monitor often the situation. When deemed appropriate, but at least once a year, it is essential to check up the trend and make sure you are on the desired path.
